Depends on how you enjoy playing. My first TT team was a goblin team, it was fun, but not a very newbie-friendly team. I guess humans are a nice choice in the start (jack of all trades, master of none). If you enoy a fast paced game with lots of ballhandling, then wood elf or skaven might be for you. If you enjoy the slow and bashy game, khemri or dwarves is the choice. Some teams are good in the start (amazon), some are great in the long run (chaos). And there's alot of team that will meet any of your fancies.

It really depends on the type of style you want to play.
I would suggest dwarves or wood elves.

TS is Team Strength, it's a better value of measuring the strength of a team than TR, as it doesn't count your current MNG and each skill/start/inj has a TS value (instead of every 5spp worth 1TR)

Go for skaven, cheap LOS fodder and good positionals ('cept the RO).

Ok, here it is the big defeat off the day 1-3 against Amazone and 2 guys miss next game + one off my thrower have -av, but my ogre have guard now.

2 guys with guard at the front line gona make it bashy.

TS is a FUMBBL-specific stat. When you see your team listed you see two numbers separated by a "/". The first is the Team Rating (TR) which is right out of the LRB4 rulebook. Team Strength (TS) is something created here to judge a team's current ability to win, treating skills and combinations of skills differently if they are especially good (Guard, Dirty Player, Block+Dodge, Claw+RSC, etc), and ignoring players who won't play next game.

Short answer, keeping your TS and your opponent's TS close when choosing games will generally get you fairer matches. In time you'll get a feeling for when other factors change how good a particular matchup is, but for now just try to pay attention to the TS (and a TR close enough that you're not also giving up handicaps per the LRB4 rules).

The thing to keep in mind about choosing a race is understanding what they are good at and what they are not good at. If you look in the Help Section of the web site, there are some very good guides written about each race and strategies you can use to win with them. Know what kind of game you enjoy playing (high casualties vs. high scoring), and then pick a race based on that. When you want to try a new tactic/race, read up on the strategy guides and check the forums for tips on what makes each race good or bad. Welcome to the site and hope you enjoy it. Be prepared to have some frustration in the beginning :)
