The Goblin Cheater nation is not-so-humbly demanding your presence at the annual Exploding Cup, kicking off on February 10th. In years past, the Cup was relegated to a few tribes blowing each other up for fun, but the Cheaters aren't happy with eviscerating only themselves, and have decided to expand their venture for more mayhem!

The Exploding Cup is one of FUMBBL's Major Tournaments and will be contested by the winners of the Exploding Cup Qualifiers and any teams lucky enough to be hand picked in the second-chance drawing. You can apply for a spot in one of the Qualifiers here.
The qualifiers will be drawn, and the Tournament commence, on the 10th of February, 2016.

Format
The Exploding Cup will be preceded by at least 8 Qualifying Tournaments, of up to 8 teams each. These Qualifying Tournaments will be Swiss draw.
More information on the Qualifiers can be found at the Exploding Cup Qualifiers group page. The winner of each of these qualifiers will gain an extra MVP and be admitted into the prestigious final tournament.
Additionally, in the event there are an uneven amount of qualifying brackets, the second place teams from each bracket will have an opportunity to play in the Final Tournament. The second place teams will need to apply to the main tournament page, and any holes will be filled with randomly drawn teams.
The winners of these Qualifiers, and any second chance winners, will face off in the 'main draw' - a Weekly Knockout Tournament which will determine the winner of the Exploding Cup.
Please note: Prep matches between qualifiers and the finals are not allowed. Any teams playing prep matches will be disqualified from the finals.

Prizes
All teams that make it through the qualifying rounds will partake in the prizes! Winning your Qualifier will award you an extra MVP to your team. Once in the 'main draw', your team is also awarded a monetary sum for advancing into the next round. The 'Dynamic Gold' prize system offers a small sums for advancement, rounded off into 10,000 gold piece amounts.
The Cheater nation will be announcing this year's prize in the coming days before the start of the tournament.
Please note that the gold piece awards mentioned in this box is added to your roster automatically AFTER your result is uploaded, it will not appear in your match report or team history as 'winnings'. Similarly, the extra MVP for winning a qualifier or the final are applied directly to your team roster after the result is uploaded and will also not appear in the 'match card'.
