“Fumbbl Cup IV third round.

I planned to give each Fumbbl Cup game a report. Now I already played the next one, so that I am not sure any more about the details of this one.

Both team had hired a wizard and Horkon was playing for us. We recieved first, and didn´t field the star, fearing he might be banned after a quick TD. The reason why we hired him was to blitz the possible ballcarrier, the blodge, AG4, sure hand Hobgoblin Dawit. We prepared to score in turn 2 (or later) to have the lead. It was turn 2 when Xune, my 62 SPPs Blitzer was BH, and I decided to use to apo on her, because of all her helpful skills. In the same turn I fouled Dawit and cause a BH, that was not apoed. Well, that thread gone. Turn 3 had me RIP a Chaos Dwarf who was safed by the apo. The TD could be delayed to turn 4 I think.

On defence I used Horkon, he assisted a foul, was the SI-ed by the Troll and went home with the 65k cash (what a waste). Thanks to the wizard I could open the cage and bring down the ball carrying bull. My Ag5 player Halisstra tried to throw it forward, but roled double one. Luckily, that was not as tragic as I thought. The ball was picked up by a Hobgoblin, that I could blitz with my ST4 lino. The free ball was picked up by Halisstra in 2 Tackle zones and this time the pass succeeded. 2nd TD in turn 8 of first half.

With less and less players on the field (the KO box was crowded), defence was nearly impossible. I wonder what had happened if the gfi had not failed to put another TZ on the bull with the ball. Well, so the bull dodged away and scored in turn 4. 4 turns left to defend the lead.

I did send 3 or 4 of my 7 (?) players forward, in a position to score. The Chaos Dwarves brought nearly all of their players back to surround mine and thus made a TD impossible. But it also meant there was just a lone Bull heading for the ball, and my ST4 lino and assist to play with him. Time was running away for the Chaos Dwarves. Their wizard was no better than average (well, like mine actually), and the firewall was no danger to the three elves (ST4 ballcarrier and Halisstra and other). The last attempt to blitz the ballcarrier was a nice action, the bull dodging (BT) into 3 tackle zones to get a 1-d Block at the ballcarrier and sent him crowd surfing. Good for me, the dodge didn´t succeed. Good for the player, a TD would still have been most unlikely.

A cool game in which the elves kept fighting in smaller numbers, seeing all their comrades going down.
