#16 Lukas Jameson – Broken Ribs (MNG)
My general Human vs Dwarf record isn't too stella so I decided to challenge these stunties for a little game and it proved to be more than exciting!

I started out recieving - somthing that was less of a pleasure after the dwarves came up with Perfect Defence. After having my Ogre KO by a skill-less Slayer on a 1d block (he didn't come back till turn 16) and soon my ag4 Frenzy Blitzer as well (though it was a MB slayer who did it this time) I decided to wait for an opening in the dwarf defence and when it presented itself I dodge, blitzed, handed off, dodged and went for it twice and thus getting out of dwarf blitz reach. The dwarves blocked, went for it twice and marked my Catcher with a blodge Blitzer - and I blocked a little and then dodged into the safety of the TD zone.

A deep kick and Injury Time made it hard on the dwarves but in the end a Dwarf Slayer managed to push through with the ball - his advance was however halted and the half ended 1-0 in the Wolverines favour.

2nd half commenced. A kick almost to the LoS - persumably right where the Dwarves wanted it and the struggle commenced. After having kept the dwarves at bay in the middle for quite som time we managed to blitz the ball free. Free is a relative term, however, as the ball was surrounded by fat little midgets with foul intents. As there were only 4 turns left for the dwarves to score we decided to try and run the clock down - deciding that if we couldn't get to the ball immidately we could at least try to prevent it from reaching our TD zone.

It went quite well but I probably commited the mistake of not keeping back a safety blitzer as the Dwarves used a round of excellent blocking and GFIs to make it almost impossible to reach the dwarven ball carrier without considerable risks.
Instead we opted to get to the ball carrier with our Guard/Tackle/Shadowing Blitzers and a Catcher - due to a failed GFI we didn't manage to secure our position and the dwarves managed to blitz the Catcher - with the intent of Crowding him with the Slayer thus at least getting rid of the GFIs that it would require to make a TD after having gotten away from the aforementioned Blitzer - only to roll a pow/skull on the following 1d block and thus blocking that possible route. The dwarves had been out of RRs for the last 2 turns but managed to dodge, get away from the Blitzer (granted - he had a MA7 Runner) and manage the 2 GFIs to equalize.

1 turn left. No RRs. No injury Time and a very deep kick that made sure that a 1 turner was impossible as a pass failed had the match end 1-1.

It was a close, fun game with no permanent injuries to my side and a skilled opponent.

Thanks for the match, Caronte. I'll be coming for a re-match.
