“2nd match for the Wolverines in a row with a Dwarf opponent. 2nd time in a row they win the Coin Toss and 2nd time in a row that Perfect Defence shows up. Deja vu!
I managed to crowdpush a str. 4 dwarf who got KO rather early and we slowly advanced - trying to cut of as many dwarves as possible and did pretty well despite a hasty burning of RRs.
I did one major mistake however - instead of marking a dwarf runner with tackle I placed him so there was still room for a 3+ dodge, GFI, GFI 2d blitz that succeeded in bringing down my ball-boy after a RR was spent. I realised my blunder at once but then it was too late...
We proceeded to crowdpush a Slayer and tried to free up the ball but those darn dwarves just wouldn't move!
In return we soon found our own ag4/Frenzy Blitzer crowded - no injury though. And as more RRs were burned on Double Skulls we struggled for ball control. To no avail but we did manage to prevent the dwarves from scoring - they probably planned on a 8 turn grind.
This wasn't exactly what happened - in the 1st turns the dwarves made a sort of risky pass that ended up away from dwarven reach and within human, and the Wolverines quickly scooped up the ball. The dwarves pummeled on and a couple of humans were KO. Only the Ogre knocking himself down opened up a 1d blitz by a Longbeard after 2 GFIs and some blocks to free the path - resulting in my ball carrier getting KO and the ball out of my hands.
Desperate struggle followed and I was stopped by some 1s but managed to BH the ag4 Dwarven runner instead.
A terrible scrum followed that ended up with my 6th player getting KO before the Dwarven Blitzer Gezzo picked up the ball in a tackle zone, past over the head of 2 Wolverines (in said TZ) and had the ball land in the grasps of the other Dwarven Blitzer Insicuro who ran in the winning TD - all without RR.
I set up for a 1 OTTD with some chainpushing - it was a longshot already with no RRs (though I had plenty of Sure Hands, Catch and Dodge) but as a 3 dice produced pow/skull, skull & pow/skull we were stopped too early to attempt anything else!
A good game with an impressive TD, no permanent injuries and no FF drop.

All in all I'm good.”
