“The North Tribe Nigglaz risked completing the not so attractive record of a 5 loss streak when they took on the Kirael Archers, and in the first half it very much looked like their usual bad luck would cause them another defeat. The star player Lurk missed the match due to his niggling injury and it was an uphill battle with lousy blocks vs an opponent that seemed to steam on and accomplish everything he tried...but things would soon turn around.
Towards the end of the first half the Nigglaz resorted to their last hope, the fragile little goblin Tikka. After establishing a box and pushing the treeman over they spent some turns getting rid of elves and in the last minute of the half the little gobbo was sent screaming through the air clutching the ball in his hands...and amazingly he landed on his feet and stumbled over the end zone line.
The match was tied, but the failure to inflict any casualties gave the opponent a tactical advantage. 11 wood elves on the pitch are very hard to stop. Suddenly the rain that was pouring down through the entire match seemed to effect the elves though. Despite being famous for their ball handling skills they started fumbling with passes, handovers and pickups and the orcs moved in to try to box them in. Slowly but steadily the elves were decimated, most ending up in the KO box though, but the greenskins missed many chances of getting to the ball because of their inability to land clean hits.
In the end the match just turned bizarre, with the elves handling the ball like they were khemri and the orcs hitting like they were halflings, but it made for a very exciting and quite fun match and a tie was probably an even result.
The Nigglaz star thrower Yuk nearly lost his life again because of a block, but the apothecary managed to save him. Sadly the eccentric thrower refuses to wear any armor, claiming that it is hindering his movement on the pitch.
The Nigglaz broke their losing streak and skilled-up the reserve thrower, but also lost an FF due to the fans having a hard time coping with why the team doesn't outbash elves.
Thanks for the match, liquid. It was fun! Like you said, we have to play a rematch some day!”
