The Cheerful Deads succesful run in the FUMBBL Minors came to a halt against the Evilgodz, who with their 3 dirty players and 5 mummies due to Ramtut III being hired for help lived up to their name. The sight of pure evil made the Cheerful Deads own dirty player, Recruitment Rob, lose his nerve and with excuses about his niggle he refused to show up.

The Deads looked ready though and blitzed right from the start, trying to side track the khemri. A failed dodge by Smudge followed by a succesful sprint and pickup by the blodging thro-ra wasted the chance though. Smudge was awful in this match, causing turnovers from failed dodges and a double failed GFI before being badly injured in turn 4.

The good start soon turned for the worse. Feisty Fred was smashed to pieces by Ramtut III, but managed to collect himself later. Worse though was that the beloved captain Rot O'Hoy got his hand smashed on a foul, a career threatening injury. To pour salt in his wounds the dirty player managed to argue the call. (Something that has been just absurd the latest 2 months. My opponents succeed with far more calls than they fail...)

The Cheerful Deads struggled to defend against the much stronger khemri, and despite heroic dodges by the zombies to try to block the thro-ra's they couldn't hold them back. The zombies actually dodged better than the ghouls, who all seemed to have an awful day. Evilgodz could comfortably score 1 - 0 before the half time break.

In the second half the rest of the now severly intoxicated Cheerful Dead crew stormed the pitch, dragging down two of the mummies. In the confuzion the undead pirates launched an offensive to score. Things looked very bad when Rodney Ratbreath fumbled the pickup, but he could make up for his mistake by snatching the ball from the feet of Ramtut III and pass it to Yar, who could run in an equalizer. The previously useless ghoul had now scored in all three rounds of the FUMBBL Minors.

The scoreline didn't make the match even though. The Cheerful Deads missed their captain and several ghouls while the khemri was virtually unharmed. The Evilgodz could take their time and wait for an opening while the undead pirates desperately tried to defend themselves. In the end they got cut off by the superior might of the mummies and the thro-ra ball carrier found an opening to charge through.
