“Seemed like a hopeless match up at first. My doubleless drofs taking on Pro's freakshow. No player reducers out of 3 handis, an opening blitz against, and BH on my best player (+AG blitzer who also had a Might Rune so apoth was used) was an ominous beginning. However, I stuck to the game plan...i.e., use the crowd as a 12th man ala surf-city and managed to put 3 Orcs in the stands. Scored on turn 8, 1-0. And the turn 8 Troll/gobbo pitch and toss play was thwarted by a good kick.
2nd half gave me a an opportunity to blitz against and a deep kick resulted in a scrum far into Orc territory. Eventually A Ton of Bricks came up with the ball and a 2-0.
This time the Troll/Gobbo combo worked and a 1-turn closed the match to 2-1 with 3.5 turns to play. The dorfs lined up with only 9 players and to make matters worse, faced a Perfect D. However, Nuffle favored the dwarves and A Ton of Bricks was able to stall out the last 3 turns, despite the heavy pressure from the Greenskins.
Louisville Slugger gave his life, but in the end it was worth it as the win almost guaranteed the Traumas another shot in premiere if they so choose.
