I have nothing much to add, bar that Pinkerton has a good knack for opening a situation into an easy run. My luck actually stood up pretty well for a change, I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time for most of the turns.

And catching your own kick-off is certainly something to be proud of.

The ending result of 2-4 belies the evenness of this game. I started out easy enough with a quick TD. The ball switches sides, and after a pitch invasion knocking a handful of my players prone or out, Ehlex quickly retaliates. 1-1. I start out again without any real fuzz, and after some unremarkable pacing and blitzing it's 2-1. I kick off, and stare in disbelief at Ehlex's rodent fans taking to the pitch again, crippling a good part of my defense. I manage to do some makeshift stalling, but in the end the Skaven prove too much for my unprepared Elves, and the final turn of first half sees 2-2.

In half #2, I kick off and Ehlex (this time fortunately unaided by an invasion) makes a gap and runs through. After some clogging and rumbling I manage to blitz his blodging Storm Vermin to a lucky halt unnervingly close to my end zone. The ball goes to the crowd, and lands with one of my line elfs, making me think I've got a good chance to turn the game my way. Alas, here starts a couple of turns seeing both teams frantically scrambling for the ball. My line elf, though well protected, gets the lights knocked out of him, and the ball eventually goes to the Rat Ogre, who proves too resilient to knock down, but at least surroundable. After a failed hand-off the ball, very fortunately, ends up with another line elf, who makes a break for it. He makes it very close to the Skaven's end zone with some degree of protection before he's caught up with and eventually knocked down after a series of failing maneuvres from both teams, sorely out of rerolls. A very skilled Skaven thrower picks up the ball, and I figure that's about it. A failed Skaven dodge though, gives me a second chance, and finally, everything works out. The blitz takes the thrower out, and a line elf manages to grab the ball and stumble into the Skaven end zone.

The last kick off, due for one turn per team, was admittedly a little cheap. My bad luck with the pitch invasions pays off in the form of a blitz, and a kick scattered so well that the projected landing square is both close enough to get my Wardancer to, and close enough for him to sprint to the end zone from there. Figuring it might be worth a shot, I place him there with some measure of protection, and during this last turn fortune was on my side, for he catches the ball, and coach Ehlex fails an unlucky dodge roll before he can attempt to block my path. Two gfi:s, and the game is over. 2-4, but it could well have turned out the other way.

After all this, there were no injuries worse than BH, and only two of those at that. That, paired with a very exciting match and a gentleman opponent, leaves you unable to ask for much more. Greatest game in a long time. Thank you, Ehlex, and condolences to poor Sausage who almost made the TD.
