This was match #2 that came with a noticeable turn of bad luck. I started with the ball and managed to score a rather regular 2-turn TD, but not after follyofman had badly hurt one of my players and knocked out another, just through casual blocks (and he didn't get to throw all that many). I come back in minus those two players and my rooted treeman and figure I'm probably going to be up for a pretty hard time. A barrage of blocks ensues and the two first see one more player knocked out and one stunned. The defense lines are getting thin.
A couple of turns now see me dodging away as best I can and attempting to slow his progress, while another elf ends up knocked out.
Eventually the Amazons leave an opening in the form of an unprotected ballcarrier, and I managed to sneak a Wardancer through and down her with a blitz. I fail to pick up the ball however, and as follyofman starts his next turn with knocking out yet another of my players, we are, at best, back to status quo. I now have six players on the field, and follyofman regains the ball. I start turn 7 by attempting a regular dodge, and promptly ends up with another player knocked out. Down to five elves, and a very uncomfortable turnover.
The Amazons go in for the kill and run the ballcarrier through, but she is left unprotected again, and I manage to blitz her down. Picking up the ball, though, again proves a bit too much for the elves, although I have it covered in three TZ:s, and follyofman makes no attempt to pick it up.

For the second half I get back two out of five knocked out players, and the treeman to boot. The Amazons though, now starting with the ball, continue their relentless onslaught. Another elf is badly hurt on the first block, and my lines are falling apart as Amazons come running in. After this I lose my first turn through attempting a block with the treeman to clear up some space, and having him promptly down himself with a skull + pow/skull. The Jaguars waste no time, knock out another one of my elves (I have to say, at this time I was wondering if there was much point in even trying), and advance with a catcher well within range of my endzone. I put one Wardancer in front of her, and blitz the ball carrier with the other. Double skulls. After this, there's not much more to do, and follyofman runs his carrier through to a touchdown.

After this, the luck turned somewhat. I got three out of four knocked out players back in, for a total of nine. Again the two-turn TD that elves are so apt at, without any real hassle. 2-1.
The next kickoff, turn five or so, sees the enraged Amazons knocking out an elf again (I'd started expecting no less, I suppose) and starting the formation of a cage. The ballcarrier can't make it all the way through, and is left unprotected and open to a Wardancer blitz. She's knocked prone, but the ball scatters unfortunately into three Amazon TZ:s. I put as many elves as I can muster in the squares around and close to it, hoping to stall as much as possible. The Amazons, undaunted, casually stun one of my line elves, clear up some space, and regain the ball. The carrier is, again, unprotected however, so I order my Wardancer to his feet and go for another blitz, taking the Amazon down and stunning her.

Here is where I have basically my only lucky move in the game, supposedly weighing up some of my opponent's AV-rolls. The ball scatters to my Wardancer, and, standing in 4 Amazon TZ:s, he rolls a 6 and picks it up. The move after this also admittedly came with some bad luck for my opponent, as he rolls a pow/skull, knocks himself out and loses his seventh turn and any chances of a draw. Still though, the block didn't involve the ball carrier, and didn't seem like a priority move. After that, it's easy enough to leap my Wardancer out, outrun the amazons, and eventually score 3-1 in the last turn of the game.

Long damn report. To round it off though, I guess it could be said that with my bad luck during the first half of this match, along with my opponent's prowess in knocking my players off the pitch (could be mentioned he also killed one of my players, but the apotechary did his job, fortunately), I'm sort of amazed the result ended up like it did, and that I didn't get any permanent or serious injuries.
It should, in the end, serve as a good reminder to myself not to lose heart even when a situation looks pretty shitty. Thanks for the game, follyofman.
