The first half was a bit one sided but nothing crazy. When there was no chance to get the ball I kinda gave up, which I'm slowly realising is the sensible thing to do after many, many star players have been maimed or killed in desperate attempts at defense.
The turn before half time, a block niggles a player, then a foul kills a player. Having been outnumbered most of the first half, we now outnumbered the dwarves and the blocking got heavy, as did the fouls. Fortunately for Niebling, the apothecary stepped in to save the star runner after a foul killed him.
We lost after I got greedy. Seeing the dwarves on the ropes, I made a dash for an early TD, then several blocks didn't work out - pushes and fended (underrated skill!) and the blitz was too easy. A stall for 1-1 was easy enough, but that's boring!”
