“The Villains came in with a strong performance in a blocking battle. We made a massive number of blocks in this fight though also suffered plenty. Probably only made more the last time we played Dwarfs with a Deathroller.
They have a big lineup and I was glad a couple of the guys out were guards. First half the Deathroller got an instant casualty but didn't follow it up with more significant damage. A failed pickup from Minaccia gave us our opportunity and Draknil, with support from Kneecapper, stunned the runner and took the ball in turn 2. Another zombie was taken out but Draknil sidestepped a blitz and Muum-ra then caused some hurt of his own. Draknil wasn't pressured so waited till turn 6 to score when Erfiti took out another Dwarf. The Deathroller was then banned from returning.
Next couple of turns the Dwarfs concentrated on hitting, while Erfiti caused another Dwarf to suffer. So this changed the numbers from 11-10 (FV up) to 9 v 9 for the 2nd half.
A sloppy setup left Draknil rushing back while our remaining members held the centre. We were under pressure, eventually Draknil charged forward and was brought down by Udienza. But once mopre Draknil escaped from trouble as he jumped up, dodged, snatched the ball and darted off for the winning td.
The Dwarfs were angry and got some more kos while Querela scored a consolation.
Very fun game against a good, chatty coach. Draknil's talent (and not being stunned when knocked down)stopped our 2nd drive from collapsing.”
