“A solid performance from the Villains against a Wood Elf maestro but we couldn't quite hold onto the lead for the whole of the second half.
As we received the Elves reformed like lightning. Draknil picked up and a skilled linelf was dispatched to a recovery bed by Werdna. The Elves swarmed in between our groups and then we had trouble as Draknil was brought down by a Wardancer. The cage was never quite fully setup but we had enough cover to recover and advance, and a great hit by Werdna on a Wardancer was a huge help. The apo did good work on the damaged ankle. The Elves started to fall over all around the place and we managed to stall out the half. A blitz stopped any one turn score thoughts.
Second half we reformed to put our hard players in the centre. The Elves dodged away though one was snatched down. Aditu kept back and we just tried to pressure him without making a big gap. We got right by him a number of times but could never quite position the hit or trip him. Eventually the Elves sorted themselves out, stopped falling and burst forward. Necrophil blitzed his way through but then had a slip of his own and our defence was over. The Elves waltzed over the line with defeat prevented.
Draknil did his job and Quickfingers Murphy again showed how good a zombie can be with his tackling abilities coing to the fore, but we couldn't hit the Elves hard enough to make the most of the situation. The pitch seemed slippy but a good, tactical match was had.”
