“Our first victory was a case of everything going right for the goats, and nothing going at all right for the elves. Griff, as is his wont, picked up the ball, and surrounded by a circle of menacing goats, he didn't face a serious challenge for it all half. Meanwhile elsewhere on the field, Longhorn Sue was going berserk, scattering broken elf bodies all over the pitch. It really seems as though nobody can stop her from getting where she wants to go, or from causing some serious damage when she arrives. Who can withstand the awesome power of this cow? (Excuse me, "cow-sized goat.")

The remaining elves set up for the second half, but an unexpected thing happened... Doc sprung into action. Before anyone could react, he was halfway onto the opposite side of the field, snatching the ball out of the air with his teeth. The opposing team's best blitzer broke an ankle trying to catch up to Doc. Farmer Ed knew the Great Woolly Goat was strong when he got him, but he didn't know about his lightning-quick reflexes. Seems as though he's probably even fast enough to tackle a man trying to dodge away from him...

It's not entirely clear what happened after that. The elves were up in arms, protesting what they saw as an offside move from Doc. The refs stood firm, saying the Goats had broken across halfcourt after the kick was already up. As fans of the two teams brawled in the stands, the fight spilled onto the pitch. Clearly, no more Blood Bowl would be played this day. Doc was named one of the game's two MVPs, along with Griff. In just three games, the goats had become a force to be reckoned with... time to build on that. ”
