“Match Highlights:

First half and U-dogs receive, forming up into their characteristic Pocket and Skirmish Line position. As the Khemri advance the U-dog catchers dodge trough their lines offering thrower Fr’bloo multiple receiving options – he spots that See-em is unmarked and in scoring range, launches his pass only to see it intercepted by the AG2 Blitz-ra ‘Bull Dozer’ – Fr’bloo is going to have to learn how to avoid getting his passes intercepted if this play is ever going to be viable. Meanwhile the Diggers are finding it hard digging the ball out from the touchline and precious time is lost moving the ball laterally across the field to try and find an opening through to the U-dog endzone. Finally Bull Dozer finds his way around the end of the U-dog line, and heads for a TD in the corner only to be brought down by a covering tackle from U-dog thrower Laz’pler just 2 yards short of the line. Suddenly all eyes turn to See-em who has been sitting, picking his nose and avoiding getting involved in any useful way, within scoring range of the Diggers’ endzone all drive. Laz’pler fends off a block from Blitz-ra ‘Dalfort-Ra’ as gobbo Odeen-natses clears a path to the ball for the thrower. Laz’pler, dodges away from his marker, picks up the ball from the touchline and sprints into the midfield ready to launch a heroic TD scoring pass to See-em but is put off when he sees See-em gouging an enormous bogie from his nostril and refuses to release the ball – opportunity missed and the half-time scores are 0-0.

Start of the second half and the effects of attrition are showing as the U-dogs only field 7 players. Among the Digger players is the worrying sight of Hack Enslash revving his chainsaw lovingly, but the U-dogs nerves are settled a little when a well aimed rock from the crowd puts the skeletal star down.

The Diggers launch their attack down the weakly defended U-dog right flank where just two goblins, See-em and Odeen-natses are trying to hold the line against a pair of Tomb Guardians, a Blitz-ra and a Thro-ra. Somehow the plucky greenskins manage to scramble the ball into touch only for the crowd to launch it deep into an undefended section of the U-dogs half. Meanwhile on the opposite side of the field Linerat D’enthee deals with a threat of a different kind as he thrusts Hack Enslash’s chainsaw into the stars own face with a howl of ‘Eeet that!’

See-em and Odeen-natses both follow the ball into the crowd to chants of ‘Everyone’s gon surfin… surfin Blood Bowl style…’ This leaves Gerald and the two linerats as the only U-dog players on the field facing down 10 of the pyramid lovers. They play in true U-dog style, Squeelee recovering the ball and D’enthee running down field to offer a pass option for his surrounded team mate but to no avail as Squee-lee is driven down under a pile of 6 opponents. He fights hard for the ball but inevitably the Diggers come out on top to score.

Despite some skilful ball handling by the U-dogs they are unable to equalize before the final whistle and the scores remain 1-0 to the Diggers.
