“Warpstone actually led at one point 2-0, thx to some brilliant coaching moves. However, FTL stayed with it, scoring at the end of the first half, and again with the second half kickoff to tie the game at 2-2. Due to injuries (some from blocks, some from failed gfi's or dodges) the teams were even strength to start the next kickoff, 6 turns left in the game. (FTL started the game with only 8 rats after a matchup with Wuhan last game....)
What then ensued was a comedy of errors and tactics by both sides. Lady luck would rear her head up long enough for each side to take the ball away from the other, but then leave just in time to prevent them from doing anything with it, leaving the ballcarrier exposed to get snatched away in the following turn, back and forth. The crowd loved it, too, as the ball got knocked into the sidelines at least 4 or 5 times, only to be thrown back out onto random locations on the pitch to continue the battle. Eventually, Cheetah was able to snatch the ball and race for paydirt in turn 8 to steal the win.
Magnificent play, and sorry about the niggling injury. But at least now we're back to full strength for future matches...”
