“It was a cool evening in the no man's land between Nippon and Northern Nippon. On that night the cousin and rival nations clashed in the time honored tradition of pounding each other on the pitch.

The debate has raged as long as the Nipponese empire has been split. Which is superior? The agile ninja or the stoic and unmovable sumos? Can a pair of claw wielding monks outlast the onslaught of the daemonic Oni?

These and other questions would not be answered on that evening. The result of their efforts could produce nothing more than a draw.

The first half saw Xi Tsu casually take a hand-off and move safely down the field for an easy score while Tong Pla applied a judicious and effective boot to remove the Oni, Hattori Hanzo for most of the first half.

In the second half, the Ronin returned the favor with the samurai Toyotomi striding down field while the Southern cousins were blocked or fouled from the pitch. The equalizing score was rarely in doubt but the limited time led to the Ronin killing the last few turns on the clock.

With this game in the books, the Ronin shifted their gaze Eastward to Cathy where their next encounter would be against the Celestial Delegate.
