“Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. We were on an 8 game non-losing streak, going 5-3-0 in that span. Somebody had to come along to snap our streak, and these darkies were the ones to do so. Of course, it didn't help our cause that when receiving the ball second half a riot held things up til the very last second, denying us a chance to tie the score. That's our story and we're sticking to it.
The elves took the opening kickoff to the house pretty quickly and painlessly, after I helped by leaving the center of the field wide open for him to waltz through. His second score came when I learned just how effective pass block can be, especially when half his team has the skill. I tried to pass, and several of his guys moved around freely. My poor catcher freaked, dropped the ball, and it was child's play for him to take it from there. He very nearly made it 3-0 when I bobbled a pickup and his witch came in to steal it away, but some lucky dodging by my super-blitzer Wren stopped him temporarily. It took some unlucky dodging by his boys to give me the opening I needed to advance the ball in for the score, although he made me earn every step I took with his clever player positioning.
A gifted coach in terms of player positioning, the first half I never got to make more than 2 blocks per turn, and my very low luck percentage (13% at one point) meant I wasn't getting the knockdowns. Don't knock him over, can't get the cas, although I made the ones I did score count. (Sorry about that.) Towards the end of the half I got a few more hits in, and second half as well, but that's just b/c the darn 6 turn riot forced us both to alter tactics radically on the truncated time table. Unfortunately, time was in his favor as he already had the lead, and I had to play catch up. This time it wasn't meant to be; but I wouldn't bet against the Scions in a rematch!”
