“Throweck and I play each other exactly once every 4 years, but his formidable reputation precedes him, so I had a feeling bringing my rookie Dark Elves to a match vs Undead was going to be a slaughter.

And so it was, but the wrong way round, with regens set to "off" and some hard hitting, 1d pows from the elves doing everything they needed to. I was needlessly cautious early on, lulling my opponent into thinking I was a careful and thoughtful coach, when in fact I'm carefree and thoughtless, and some silly luck in the scrum got the ball loose and then into the hands of a lineman who ran away to score.

Second half came, and I figured I should fall back and defend deep, after an initial feint to go 2 up failed when Fole got MNG'd. After the ghoul whiffed a 5+ heroic dodge to surf my runner (and before my runner did a highly inaccurate pass that still ended up in a blitzer's hands (Dump Off is the most wonderfully feel-bad skill when it pays off)) we just had to hold on for a glorious 1-0 win (the first victory of this BBT cycle, after just 7 losses and 2 draws).
