“A strange match that brings our 5 game unbeaten streak to an end. We were very close to equalising in the final minutes, but only after we had sidelined all except two of the opponents. Unfortunately Gimli tripped on the GFI and the score remained 2-1. Outclassed for the first TD, we felt that the second was a little hard on us. Double skulls, just as Gimli was winding up for a final dash to the line ruined our chance of an equaliser before the break, and with so much speed on the opposition team it was near impossible stopping the breakaway TD.
In the second half we started more positively. An unlucky roll on the GFI left Gimli alone and in sight of the line. 2-1. With the casualties mounting up, significantly the SI on the Kroxigor by Telchar, Movers struggled to contain the Dwarves, who could feel the change of fortunes. In the end though, some valiant defensive work by Reserve Rene just about secured the win, with Gimli having the final word when he tripped up on the GFI.

Movers played the better match and deserved the win, but casualties are part of the game, and we almost snatched an unlikely draw.

On a more positive note, Telchar became the oldest active Dwarf in FUMBBL, with 67 appearances to his name.
