“Yet another game where, despite 3 claws and a mb big guy, I'm still out-cas'd by a team with only a single MB. I can routinely get tons of ko's and stuns, but cas are few and far between. But where my blocking might leave something to be desired, my ball handling this game was as stellar as ever, despite a first half blizzard and second half rainstorm. Meanwhile, the elves were hitting like chaos and passing like zombies, it must have been mighty frustrating for my opponent. He played well and properly, but the dice rolls just weren't with him when it counted. For example:

Initial drive, needs only a 2+ to catch ball in endzone, yet it bounces out to the fans, who throw it back in to where only my rats can reach for an easy return score...

Next drive, he fails a 3+ pass, ball bouncing around for my gutters to pick up and score...

He fails a 3+ ball pickup, allowing me to take the ball away. True, he intercepted my pass and started moving the other way, but he then failed a 3+ catch, allowing my rats to steal the ball and score anyway...

Game end, he drops a 3+ handoff for an easy score. I move in gutters to cover, but he knocks them away. He merely has to pick the ball up with his agi 5 sure-handed thrower...double-1, ofc...

I suffered a loss of my clawed storm vermin to a very late niggling hit (apo used previously), so he's now a LOS coach. However, the skill rolls more than made up for his loss! (Besides, I had the cash to replace him right away. Sure, the new guy won't be clawed...yet...but then again, it's not like claw was giving any cas to my SV anyway...) Bo, the often-wounded lineman, rolled +Str! Maybe now he won't be knocked over as often, meaning less time injured! (At least, that's the theory...)

And the true star of the team, Sai, has become even more amazing. In order, his skill rolls have been thus far horns (double), dauntless (double), +agi, and now claw (double). He might not know how to survive a block yet, but he sure knows how to dish it out! May he live long enough to reach the 76 spp w/o aging so he can FINALLY learn how to block properly! Of course, he'll probably roll yet ANOTHER double skill roll, but hey, I won't object too loudly if you won't. ;-)”
