“I fail a 3+ catch and lose the ball on my first drive towards the end of the half. Unholy flesh get the ball back, and the wolf outruns the rest to score. Fair enough, my weak offense was taken apart by a well played defense.

I can't score in one turn so I try a simply pass for the completion. 1,1. Sigh.

The second half, I press them back, over-excitedly. They burst through the weak point in my line and I accidentally select 'move' rather than 'blitz'. Harsh, but the Athletic probably deserved to be 2-0 down.

It's okay, nothing I can't recover from. First block for me - double skulls. And my three rerolls have already gone on 2+ dodges and an earlier double skulls. Down he goes. Breaks armour, serious injury - dead. Go, go Knifey Rateater. My third casualty of the game.

Turnover. The Wolf gets the ball and stands, one square away from the score.

Now, I can reach him, and he doesn't have block, or dodge. One die block - skull. And the wolf scores.

There's just enough time for me to not score, suffering another serious injury in the process. I can pull one back, just for pride. 2+ pass, made. 3+ catch? No way.

Poor play, misclicking and some accursed luck (that would be one team reroll in six that helped then) led to an appalling game (for me at least).

0-3 score, 0-5 cas, 0-1 passes (and another great 0/3 from Darius Longarm, surely deserving that MVP). Not my day today.”
