“Plenty of poor luck on Squigs part had me thinking this was in the bag until his misfortune spread and everything important started to fail.
A fumbled short pass for a TD (with pass reroll) then a mistake on my part (followed by a failed 2d block) meant that a golden scoring oportunity went begging and then the damage started. Two players sat in the KO box for most of the game, two were killed (the crowd tore the Pirates passer to shreds so no chance to use Doc!) and those left on the pitch were stretched too thinly.
Solid play meant that once he had the upper hand I was always stretching to get back in the game, a few risky blitzes failed on the GFI to hit the ball carrier (but they'd already dodged and GFI to get there:).”
“I must agree, initially I thought it was me with the bad luck. The first half was tense and really both sides could have scored. A double 1 in my turn meant that talonbay only had to pass and catch to score. Of course he blew it with another double 1! I managed to get the ball but played really poorly and was almost turned over. turn 7 saw me in a tricky situation. A bit of thinking and a savy blitz meant that I had a chance to score, but failed the handoff.
Second half started bad for talonbay, his KO's just wouldnt come out and it won me the game. Although he pushed me right untill the end with his blitzers being particulary effective despite being a few men down.
The death was unfortunate and undeserved. This game could have swung either way, but luckily fo me it was me who won. Thanks for the game and better luck next game!
10/10 for talonbay”
