“I'd say a draw was a fair result for this match, but I'd be lying. Nuffle really, really spit on us today, and by "us" I mean both teams. First half was just an absolute joke, rolling double-1's left and right for both teams. Five turns to score an opening touchdown...haven't had to work so hard with my Masters in a LONG time! Of course, there wasn't a prayer of stopping his very well-defended str 5 lineman once he got the ball for a retaliatory score, 1-1 at the half.
Second half he receives and yet again the str 5 (one of two (2!) str 5 lineelves on the roster) gets the ball, surrounded by friends. He's stalling for all he's worth, not advancing the ball a single step for 4 turns, just hitting for all he's worth. At this point he's just knocking my rats prone, and eventually I'm able to get a couple shots at his str 5 lineman...once with my dauntless/horns gutter, and once with my RO, both times pushes only. The last straw came when I actually managed to knock him over, only to have the ball caught on the bounce by another elf, himself surrounded by friends. Ok, fine, can't stop his score (too many ko'd rats), just hit who I can who might hurt me...including that str 5 guy...double skulls, bh rat. Same str 5 guy hits another rat, POW, bh rat. Another elf hits, POW, bh rat. Crowdpush, bh rat. It was just not a good turn to be a rat...
Fortunately, my OTS gutter Sabre was up to the task when called upon to save the draw for the team!
Yes, I am very grateful that the cas against me were all bh or apo'd, but I still call it utterly ridiculous how some of the dice rolls went! Cas left and right on av7 rats, yet only two cas on av7 elves, despite a LOT of knockdowns with mb and/or claw? Pushes where I needed POWs, while he got all the POW in the world? I'm VERY lucky to get out of this game not only not having lost anybody, but not losing the game, and actually gaining fans! Woot! Been a while! He got some, too, so guess the fans got their money's worth watching such two high profile teams duke it out!
