#4 Zassra – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#4 Zassra – Smashed Knee (NI)
#5 Jerruma – Dead (RIP)
Final game of a Fumbbl Cup IV Qualifier.

Both teams hired a wizard and the Orcs hired Varag Ghoul-Chewer as well.

Coach Arcon: "It surely was one of the best games of my team. The Elves were, simply said, brilliant! We had to suffer may losses, but we showed them great elf play. Well, also some nice bashing!"

Actually the game didn´t start too good for us. Handicaps were Bribe the ref 2 and It wasn´t me (Gargonna: Guard, Dodge, Block), .
We were to recieve first (<- well, that was good), and kick off result was get the ref for the Orcs. ouch.

Our plan was to score early, try to prevent the Orc TD in first half, and use the wizard for a nice surprise in half 2.

So we pushed forward, but our sprinters were surrounded by Orcs. A chain push Blitz and a 3+ and 2+ dodge freed the Witch that run into the endzone and caught the ball. The 3+ dodge needed a team reroll, so the remaining 5 2+rolls for the TD needed to succeed without reroll. I think I had to try anyway, since too many Elves were in bad position for not scoring. And we succeeded.
Now it was the Orcs to recieve, to block, to use the Dirty Player. Csonti was so nice not to roll many pows during the game, and he had too few tacklers to really harm my players. But every time an Elf was on the ground the Dirty Player was there. So I recieved 3 cas in the first half and was down to 9 players then.
Oh, the ball? Well, I was surprised by their tactics. Instead of forming the well known cage, the ball carrier stayed at the very back of the field, and never advanced.
So, we went into 2nd half, still leading 1:0, and having the wizard, being willing to use him.
But again, the situation was like in first half: The Ballcarrier (AG5 Orc! He also had 2 AG4 Orcs..) remained in the endzone, and at the LoS the bashing started again. First turn, next foul, next cas, the ref spotted it but the DP was not banned due to the handicap roll. Despite their greater number the Orcs could not win the battle. The lack of pows, our dodging and good blocks resulted in a tie. Around turn 3 or 4, I thought: well if he does not want to score, I can give it another try, and some of the elves started pushing and running forward. That made the ball carrier move. Now, I could have reached him with a lightning bolt, but tried the blitz, and knocked the ball carrier over (SI I think), but could not reach the scattering ball. Another Orc picked it up. This turn, I forgot the wizard, blitzed again with my ST4 lino, succeeded, picked up the ball and scored.
The Orcs got the ref again, but, thx Csonti, didn´t foul any more. They tried TTM TD, but failed.

In this game a Thrower was killed, a Blitzer recieved her 2nd niggle (and was retired), and my ST4 witch niggled at 3rd skill. A shame that I hired a wizard both last games, since I didn´t use them anyway. A nice waste of 100k, or: a Blitzer. ;-)

The team is now considerably weakend, but will do its very best in the Fumbbl Cup!
