Ding Bat never missed a game. He started and played well in all 18 games prior to his death. He was a team captian and solid player. He was just too old. Each time he learned something new about the game, he would develop some sort of ailment. He was strong, light of feet, and nasty. A consistent hitter and not afraid to stand up to the other guys.
