HISTORY: The Midas Boys are the brainchild of entrepreneur, land-owner, philosopher, socialist, sports-fan and all round good-guy, Merrian Micheal Melloncotton. 'Old man M' as he is affectionatly known, was becoming progressively frustrated by the increasing divide between the common man and the aristocracy. Denouncing the establishment as a bunch of lazy goblin-touchers he decided that something must be done. Seizing on the spirit of youth he approached the formative generation of the nobility and proposed something unheard of, something so grotesque that it would raise the eyebrows of every man, woman and child in the land: A NEW BLOOD BOWL TEAM! It was his opinion that getting the young gentry to let loose their hearts and souls on the pitch, before the fans, would make heros of them and better still, make a mockery of the stuffy traditions of their parents! And so the Melloncotton Midas Boys were born. Suspect eyes follow them wherever they venture; the people as cynical as the lords. Could this be a revolution in society or a failed PR exercise? Fate will throw it's block-dice at the feet of the intrepid youngsters as they step forth from the shadows of vaulted halls and into the blistering rage of the Blood Bowl field. What can 'old man M' expect? We shall see, but lets at least make him proud... ***************************************************************************************** IMPORTANT EVENTS: - 3 preliminary games at the academy. The rookie players and coach manage to win the first of their matches but are quickly returned to normality when they are soundly beaten in the remaining games.
