Somewhere in the warp-ravaged plains of the Chaos Wastes lies a town known only as the Fleshpile. Once a thriving human settlement, it was conquered by the forces of Nurgle and its inhabitants were slain mercilessly by their attackers. Those few who were allowed to survive found themselves with an even more awful fate - to become carriers of the Rot. Soon the town was transformed - streets that once swarmed with traders now crawled with maggots. Taverns that once resounded to drinking songs now screamed the wails of the infected. The town square became a repository for the festering masses of the dead, an ever-growing pile of human remains that grew higher than the highest building, a pile
atop which was erected the throne of the town's conqueror and despoiler, the vile Cicatrice, Champion of Nurgle.

As Cicatrice looked down from his throne at the pile of writhing, tortured flesh beneath him, he saw that it was good. But it was not good enough - the Rot must be spread further, Nurgle's message must be carried to the untainted. There was one obvious answer - Blood Bowl!
