Ebon Xanic, High Lord of Graveshade The Team The Graveshade Grandmasters is Graveshade's main bloodbowl team, that fights in the name of the Great Vampire Lord Ebon Xanic. Finally becoming sattiated and bored by the decades-long blood orgy that the Xanic clan indulged in after finding their way to this paradise once named Gallhain, Ebon sends out the best of both his own kin as his personal harem of thralls to spread his power and bring him a taste of all these other delicious races this lavish land of Orrym has to offer. Ebon doesn't believe in leading an army from the outside. As he was personally the first out of the portal and into the battle, dealing blows to Tomb Guardians and shattering skeletons alike, that faithful day when U'bognthaotur allowed them into Orrym, he demands of his head coach to lead from on the pitch and not from beside it. Bothia Xanic,Bothia is Ebon's undisputed number one in the Xanic clan, the only vampire he so far created, and the only one of his kin he deems worthy to perhaps one day overtake him as leader of the clan. She is in full command of this entire Bloodbowl Campaign, and she stand strong right beside the rest of her pack, ready to fight just as hard as she expects her team to do. There is a second team in Graveshade, under command of U'bognthaotur, the former court jester of Gallhain who originally let the Vampires into Orymm, which Ebon keeps around as sort of a souvenir of that glorious day. He indulged him and allowed him to play with his own band of misfit undead clowns, on the off chance that they may prove of some sort of worth, if only as a sparring partner for the Grandmasters. Of course he could not do this without reminding U'bognthaotur of his roots. Captain/Coach of The Grandmasters Graveshade Graveshade is by now a dreadful place which was once the location of a beautiful castle, where the local nobility ruled with a benign hand. Back then it had a different name, which has been forgotten by most: (Castle) Gallhain. When a portion of Eyer's forces came to Gallhain, they laid siege to the castle. There was little hope for those inside, but for the sake of pride, the castle held for much longer than expected. And perhaps if there had been any allies to save them, they would have held on even longer. But hopeless as the situation was, the nobility eventually decided there was no use in the foolhardy sacrifice of lives. They were ready to surrender. However, the court jester could not cope with this idea. He was desperate, and in his desperation, he opened a portal to a parallel reality filled with Shadow & Death, and negotiated with a great Vampire Lord to chase away the invading force in exchange for a foothold on this plane of existence. Much blood was shed, and the desperate gamble worked flawlessly. Eyer's forces were torn apart, and this was noted as Eyer's single great defeat during his Conquest, before his actual fall from grace later on. But on the other hand, Ebon Xanic, the Vampire Lord, decided to set up his foothold right then and there in the castle. With brutal efficiency, Ebon slayed all serious opposition, and enslaved the rest. He now farms the local human population like cattle, and only a precious few are indulged and treated like special pets rather than walking food - these are the thralls, and they accept their fate with as much as grace as they can muster, because very occasionally, one of them is accepted in the ranks of vampirism. "The Grave" - Graveshade Stadium For the Graveshade Stadium, we took a symbolic approach to our design, finding symbolism that is valued by both us vampires as the thralls, we chose the grave-design to satisfy everyone. The place where thralls end their lives, and where vampires begin theirs and their quest for glory. At the bottom of the grave is a standard Blood Bowl field, along with two dugouts and a small spectators area for those who like to be as close to the blood as they can. On top we have the proper lodgings at the edge of The Grave, where the spectators can enjoy a great overview of the game and all the comfort one comes to expect of the finer bloodbowl establishments, such as refreshments (from actual players if you don't mind the cost!!) and proper seating. After each match the bottom of The Grave is covered with a layer of fresh soil to hide the remnants of the last match. As the current stadium is filling up slowly, a new one is excavated nearby. |
