There was no joy in Mudville...

Life has been difficult for these elves. Once a successful Blood Bowl team, the fame and power their successes garnered began to corrupt the managerial staff, leading to suspicious events occurring both on and off of the pitch. Shortly thereafter the players themselves were accused of cheating and match fixing by the High Elf council which governed the sport. The council was swift to hand out the most severe punishment possible: the team was dissolved, and the players were stripped of their wealth and prestige before being banished from their elven homelands. Forced to live among humans and other lesser creatures, this former team has taken up residence in a seething pit of a backwater town aptly named Mudville. It was not the ambiance of Mudville, nor its people, which served as the reason the team decided to stay, but rather the dilapidated stadium located in the center of town, and with it the chance to once again play the game they love, and the hope that they may somehow regain their former glory. Christening themselves the Mudville Vipers these elves subject themselves to further humiliation as they play for the enjoyment of the drooling, dim-witted, human spectators. Fueled by their hatred of the council which betrayed them and the sounds of their jeering fans, the Vipers now play Blood Bowl on their terms.
