TEAM BIO The Nuln Golden Eagles are the only Myrmidian blood bowl team to hail from the Empire. Nevertheless, these northerners ply their trade south of the Empire, playing their games against the Estallians and Tileans who regard the Goddess of strategy, honour, and beauty as particularly their own. The reason for this is simple: the decadent, extravagant, and fabulously wealthy Grand Countess Emmanualle Von Liebwitz of Nuln, has ambitions to stretch her considerable political influence beyond the confines of the Empire. The Countess is planning for an illustrious marriage of her niece to a brooding, dark (and rich) Tilean Prince, or perhaps a handsome, fun-loving (and rich) Magrittaian nobleman. Ever astute, the Countess understands that winning over the common man in the south is just as vital as commanding state power. As such, Emmanuelle has agreed to sponsor the Golden Eagles with the strict condition that they become the best blood bowl team the Old World has ever seen, proving to all that Myrmidia favours Nuln, and filling the taverns of the southern cities with bloodbowl chants ringing the praises of the all-conquering Eagles! For the head coach, Sepp Schwarz, this generous sponsorship proves something of a headache, since the demands of the Countess do not always sit easily with the strictures of Myrmidia. Nevertheless, Myrmidia teaches that one must sometimes act against strictures when one knows it is right, and through this Sepp has (almost) convinced himself he acts with perfect integrity. Similarly, Myrmidia teaches that one must respect the rules of war, but this rule may be broken when confronted with those who pay no heed to such obligations. Dismayed by the blades, chainsaws, and such like that Sepp sees on the pitch every week, he has interpreted this teaching to mean that fouling should be permitted by his team, and he has (almost) convinced himself he acts with perfect integrity. For the Eagles, the lineman are taught it is their proper role to evade the opposition and maneuver to deliver a 'strategic' foul.
