One of the wins was by Virginia Tech against an at large Cincinnati team. While fun to watch, no one that really knows football had Cincinnati confused with a good team. The other win was by Florida State in the BCS championship game. At the time, Florida State was a premiere football program, but has since slid into mediocrity. I guess they spent too much time around too many other mediocre teams. The bottom line is, when you suck for 14 years, you don't all of a sudden become good over the course of one year. :D |
