Blijdorp Rotterdam BBC Team Background Once upon a time the silverback Bokito was born in the Zoologischer Garten, Berlin, Germany. He was abandoned by his mother at birth and subsequently raised by human attendants. In mid-2504, Bokito escaped from his enclosure in Berlin and climbed its three-metre-high wall. He was escorted back to his cage without incident. In August 2505 Bokito was transfered to the Rotterdam Zoo "Diergaarde Blijdorp". On May 18, 2507, he jumped over the ditch that separated his Rotterdam enclosure from the public and violently attacked a woman, dragging her around for tens of metres and inflicting bone fractures as well as more than a hundred bite wounds. He subsequently entered the nearby restaurant, causing panic among the visitors. During this encounter, three more people were injured as a result of the panic. Bokito was eventually sedated with the help of a tranquilizer arrow and placed back in his cage. A Feyenoord team scout observed the incident and saw a great talent for blood bowl in the young lad. Bokito was immediately offered a permanent contract as team captain, and was given the freedom to draft his own team around him. He selected top-notch former Feyenoord Rotterdam players for his team. They don't earn a lot of money with it, but are in it for the GLORY! Bokito giving a press conference after signing his contract in 2507 A new Rotterdam blood bowl club Blijdorp Rotterdam BBC was raised to host Bokito's team. From 2507 all the way through 2515 the team has secretly been training on advanced tactics and brutal force. Collaboration agreements with sister club Feyenoord Rotterdam were signed and both clubs became each others main sponsor. Feyenoord and Blijdorp became each others main sponsors and play in the same shirt Since January 2516 the team was ready to enter the pitch and prove its worth. On the pitch, Bokito could finally be his usual self again, attack whomever he deemed a good target, and inflict as many bite wounds and bone fractures as he liked. And he lived happily ever after... Trivia: Did you know... ...that Bokito I had quite a dramatic performance? During his first match he got seriously injured early 2nd half. When he recovered from his injury he immediately got killed in turn 1 by a fellow Silverback from Tots n' Ham Hotspur. 140k investment down the drain after a mere 10 turns... It took the team an entire season to save enough funds to replace him and hire Bokito II. ...after 30 games, Blijdorp's 'biggest' victory still was only 2-0? Sad but true. But the team was still dreaming of bananas. And also of a big walk over match. Their motto: "Always keep on dreaming!". And then it happened... in match #31 against Helloo's Elf C Utrecht Blijdorp won with 4-0. ...Pierre van Hooijdonk is Blijdorp's own version of a 'stat freak'? Rolled +AG and +MA, and currently holds stats of 6348. In other words: A simple dark elf lineman.... but still very special to us humble apemen. ...Blijdorp's arch rivals are 1860 München? In the direct matchups we have a 1/1/2 record. What's worse: We ended directly behind them three tournaments in a row (conf. south 24, league cup 24 and league two 25). In league one 26 we finally got or revenge and beat them 2-1. ...Julio Ricardo Cruz was born as a simple Bonobo but desperately wanted to become a Gorilla? He spent hours in the gym doing muscle training and in the apothecary taking steroids. After gaining +ST he broke his leg on purpose to gain -MA and mimic the Gorilla's slow movement. But when he tried some dangerous tricks to gain -AG, it backfired and he got another -MA. The poor lad. ...there is a sister team in the Secret League Open? In the three first seasons Bokito hit and maimed many opponents. But that did not satisfy his blood thirst in the least! Bokito started a second team in the Secret League Open division to get more CAS opportunities and more fun. ...no one actually knows what the 'B' in the logo stands for? Bokito? Banana? Blijdorp? Blood? Bonobo? Bite wounds? Bone fractures? Biodiversity? ...apothecaries know nothing of the ape body? They simply didn't learn it at medicine school. Whatever you do, never ever try to cure a permed ape, because the apo will just kill him in the process. We tried to cure a perm/kill 5 times in season 24. Three of them ended up in a 'kill', one in '-1AV' and one in '-1MA'. ...apes are real money makers? With their extra arms they manage to pick every single coin out of the pockets of the spectators. Blijdorp's winnings in season 24: 60k-60k-60k-60k-70k-80k-60k. ...that after a poor match against BCB Orcmund, the tabloids blamed Medon for bad coaching? Medon took no responsibility at all, but instead pointed at scapegoats Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Robin van Persie as the ones to blame. The crowd believed Medon and fed the poor players the jungle lions. ...around match #30 the team had an all-time slowness record, and were just as slow as dwarves? The team carried a total of 7 -MA injuries with them. The 11 players in the base defensive squad had an average movement of 4.8 (!). In preparation of the match against Elf C Utrecht some slow players were fired and fast players hired, boosting the average MA to 5.3. ...coach Medon used to head the wood elf team PSV Enthoven? His switch to rivals Blijdorp was not smiled upon by the Enthoven fans at all. Several attempts on Medon's life were made by angry nut trees. As to date, Medon does not dare to walk in a forest without Helmut Wulf as body guard. Quite a handicap if your whole team actually lives in the jungle. |
