Sparhawk, Queen's Champion and member of the Pandion Knights, returns to his homeland after an extended sojourn to find much altered. His queen has fallen ill and is now encased behind an indestructible diamond wall; polictics is threatening to throw the kindgom into disarray; and Azash, ancient god of evil, is raising an army in his latest attempt at conquering the world.

What's a knight to do? What he has to, of course! Together with the champions of the other three militant orders--the Cyrinics, the Alciones and the Genidians--Sparhawk must blend sword and sorcery in his search for an ancient talisman to cure his queen and stop Azash...or die trying!
