In the mean streets of Rio de Janiero, the drug lords of the slums are king. They execute their own rule of law. Police do little more than contain each gang to it's own hilltop and prevent the spread of whole sale disarray.

Still, there is one group of officers that seem to operate outside the law. They are the Elite Squad or BOPE. There task is to remove the weapons from the hands of the criminals. To this end, they opperate with extreme prejudice. Indeed, on the streets of Brazil, the BOPE is the only law kingpins fear. You don't go to jail, you go to the morgue.
