The Ataraxia Resort line of Houses of Companionship, sponsored by House Aponia, treat their consorts very well, certainly by other peasant standards. But an eventuality of life working as a consort is eventual pregnancy - even by modern technology, not all forms of birth-control are effective - at least not cost effective.

House Aponia is, however, strictly against abortion, and so all children from Houses of Companionship are guaranteed a place to live and work.
