The Six Nation Gods are made up of Orcs drawn from the six most powerful tribes of the badlands. Together they make up a fearsome squad of greenskinned bruisers! In their first game against a fresh team of Chaos Dwarves, the Six Nation Gods killed three Hobgoblins, badly hurt another, and knocked out a Chaos Dwarf. This proved too much for the unsuspecting Chaos Dwarves and they threw in their entire laundry basket at half time. The gods of luck were on the side of the Six Nation Gods, not that they'd ever admit it... In their second game, this time against a fresh team of Dwarves, the Six Nation Gods did not manage the same bloodbath they achieved against the Dwarves' evil cousins. A single injury, a single touchdown and a single tragedy summed up the match. All of these came via the Blitzers in the squad, showing they are the true leaders of the team. John Barclay managed to badly hurt one of the tough Dwarf Longbeards before smashing through their lines and scoring the winning touchdown. The tragedy came from Dan Cole who attempted to dodge from being pinned next to the sidelines by one of the crazed Trollslayers. While he dodged the clumsy Dwarf, the Hobgoblin clan who Dan Cole had caused so much death to decided to strike back. The huge Blitzer collapsed, a poisoned dart evident in his throat. R.I.P. Dan Cole - you took two souls in exchange for you own a game later! Third time proved unlucky for the S.N.G. in which they earned their highest score but their first draw. The game was almost perfectly balanced with each side scoring two touchdowns and achieving two casualties. However whereas their Human opponents had a medical specialist on hand to prevent any lasting injury, the S.N.G. were not so well prepared. Thus Ben Foden, linesman, became the second Orc to leave the team and move to the coaching staff because of a serious concussion. Retired Ben Foden - you didn't do much, but you may be able to help from the bench! The fourth outing for S.N.G. saw them facing the Undead for the first time. In a brutal match, that saw Morgan Parra badly hurt in the first turn, the Orcs showed their skill and power to force the opponent to concede while the score stood at 2 - 1. There is real development showing in the squad now; all the Blitzers demonstrating some particular skill: Bradley Davis and Martin Castrogiovanni's blistering speed, Imanol Harinordoquy's tactical ball ripping, and John Barclay's ferocious tackling. The fifth match for S.N.G. marks their first failure. Facing off against a Catcher filled High Elf team in the pouring rain, the S.N.G. found themselves out run. Despite this they managed a 1-0 lead at half time and as the second half began the rain stopped as if to allow the Orcs to pick up the ball and cement their lead. Alas fate conspired otherwise. After a routine block went catastrophically wrong, Toby Flood was charged down, the High Elves grabbed the ball deep in Orc territory and scored effortlessly. When the kick came again, disaster struck once more. The ball landed to the side of the pitch in which the High Elves had gambled their strength and then a Blitz result occurred on the kick off table. The High Elves swarmed over the ball and the Orcs were once again powerless to stop the tide of pointy eared folk. The Orcs final play, a mere two turns, was almost complete and within reach of a draw, when the pass thrown by Toby Flood was intercepted miraculously by one of the High Elf Catchers. It was too much for S.N.G. They have tasted defeat and it is bitter. |
