I had quite some trouble vs. Lizardmen with my first 145 team and you know what they say... if you can't beat them join them! *** Pre-season *** The Snake Eyes started with two victories against Skaven and Underworld. Just what we needed to get some block on the team. *** 145 May Mini Season - WINNERS! *** The Snake Eyes won the 145 May Mini Season! This confusing event with 6 teams was supposed to have two rounds (10 games in total) but was stopped after the first round. The Snakes totaled F-O-U-R victories and a draw vs. Crunch-'s Undead. *** Between Seasons *** A very tense game vs. a human pure-lineman team costs the life of both our Chameleon skinks. Copperhead is only safe thanks to the apo. The result is 0-0. Big drop in TV. *** Mid-May Madness - WINNERS! *** The Snakes join a tournament with 10 teams and open play. We start with a 1-0 win vs. Dwarfs, followed by a crazy 2-1 win vs. Elven Union (where the Kroxi Anaconda and Viper the Saurus scored the two TDs!). The third game is another win, this time 2-1 vs. Chaos Dwarfs, but this was very close to a draw and it's fair to say coach loopyloo did a better job than our coach. Copperhead is again saved by the apo and poor Coachwhip is killed during the game. The fourth game is a totally one-sided 4-0 vs. Orcs which were cursed by Nuffle with two kicks on the touchdown line - easily exploitable with Snakes speed. The winning streak ends at the 5th game with a 0-0 vs. Halflings. The Snakes game plan can be summarised with “how cool would it be to kill a tree?”. It was a bad game plan. After a long hiatus the Snake Eyes hit the pitch again, and this time they win 2-1 vs. Skaven. It's a really tense and hard game for both sides. We can punch plenty of rats into the dugout, but their very well skilled gutter runners seem to be a team on their own. They score first (turn 4) after we made some silly mistakes. Thanks to their wrestle/strip ball runner they deny our touchdown in the first half. In the second half we manage to score quickly after few removals, and then they lose the ball while attempting to dodge through sauri. Copperhead is always good for ball recovery, and this time their sacker fails a gfi and the victory is ours. We finally get to play the 145 Future Orcs (who we faced previously in a different tournament), and we defeat them again, this time 2-1. We score twice in the first half, and we spend the second half trying (poorly) to not get our players injured so to be ready for the big final game vs. Crunch’s BBB. But the Orcs seem more interested in a fight then the ball and our Kroxi Anaconda gets a smashed knee, meaning no Kroxi for the final game, and most likely an early retirement for this otherwise really solid player (how many Kroxis have scored a TD?). Final game of the tournament vs. Crunch's BBB. We both score by turn 8. But they fail their one-turn touchdown. By a sheer stroke of luck, we manage ours. 2-1. THE SNAKE EYES ARE THE CHAMPIONS OF THE MID MAY MADNESS!!! *** IoMT *** Good start (1-0) vs. a Dark Elves team. Next up. Ogres Team logo via publicdomainvectors.org |
