I'm going to be a teacher!
I know a lot of people can't stand the way personal junk is shared on here but I had to post this little message for myself.

I've been working as a paraeducator for a couple years now and as of today the school district I'm in has decided to sponsor me for teacher certification! I'll start this summer and then be a bonafide teacher one year from now!

OH YEAH! Feels like a triple-pow.

Thanks for reading. :P

I wish it was Blood Bowl! Sadly the high school I am at is just not progressive enough for that.

Teaching is the best job, especially in July and August. Good luck!

Cheers! What do you teach?

Congratulations! I'm in my last year of training to become a teacher, too (in Germany though). The job is much more stressful than most people think, but soooo rewarding :)

congratulations!

don't worry about the "personal junk", that's what elevates fumbbl to a community and makes people want to play.

Personal junk is what blogs are for... correct format. And congratulations!! Goals met career wise are to be celebrated. Week done :)

Thanks guys! Glad this was well received haha.

I'll be endorsed in Special Education first, following it up with math(K-12). I'll be teaching grades 9-12.

Special education is what I want to focus on. I work in a behavior program and it's been an incredible experience so far. They suggest that you get endorsed in something else though in case you burn out since apparently there is a TON of burn out in Special Ed. Hoping that doesn't happen to me too quickly haha.

I have a child in Special Education. He is autistic.

I wrote my writing requirement for my juris doctor on the history of legislation that pertains to special education.

My personal experience with special education instructors borders on pathetic.

Sadly, the ones I've dealt with were the reject teachers they had to stick somewhere.

I've had to Blitz the school on a few occasions to fight for my child's rights.

I would love to see someone with some fire in their belly take on this task.

If you want to help disabled children, I salute you!

Any advice bill? I love the kids I work with and most of them like me. Beyond that I just try to get through homework assignments so guidance is welcome.

I do love being in special education. I love the program I'm in especially but am always happy to have advice. So far I've seen a few kids graduate and I've been able to make friends with almost everybody I work with. It's been great and definitely where I want to stick.
