Real life and blood bowl
With the upcoming holiday (at least here in America) some of my non healthcare friends asked what I was doing for the fourth of July. When I told them I would be working, they seemed shocked. I followed by telling them that as a home health nurse my clients need care at all times, not just during bankers hours. With some of the more senior nurses going on vacation that week, and the client still needing care, the additional hours of care must continue. Thus, I will be working most of those hours next week (or sleeping) with this sudden change, I have reevaluated my time needs for real life and found I try to do too much. Some cuts must be made.

I too will be working on (my country's version of) July 4th! Hurrah for non office jobs!

I would recommend not cutting your patients, that's probably not going to do wonders for your career.

I will probably enter far fewer tournaments (only one at a time) and leave a league or two. Those weekly deadlines start piling up quickly.

I've found that two leagues and the occasional tournament is all I can reliably schedule around. Kudos for recognizing and dealing with the problem.

There are no days off for super heroes!
You play when you can, you work when you can and you rest when you can, that's what you do.

Right so laptop at patient's then for some FUMBBL action, right?

Nah just kidding. I work every bank holiday, and holiday. The only day I know I'll get off is Christmas Day. Workers gotta work.

What leagues are you staying in?
