A grand match.
We all love blood bowl, but every now and then there is a match that stand out as enjoyable above and beyond the rest, and last night I fortunate to find one of the game.

In what was the wee hours of the morning I was ready for bed, and was closing my browser tabs when I went to close the gamefinder tab. As muscle memory dictated however I refreshed the page to see who was around and I saw there were a couple of coaches that I recognised and one that I didn't - policeshades. I would normally give it no thought but I noticed that they carried a legend rating, and though to myself they must be good - perhaps new to the site but an experienced coach.

I also noticed that they has underworld on gamefinder, which is a team I love and was curious to what their build looked like. Expecting a team with just a few games, I was pleasantly surprised to see that their team had 21 games with an amazing 16/3/2 record - and with this I poured over the build, breaking down and analysing the skill choices mentally arguing and concurring with the BB2020 choices that had been made. I than snapped out of it, I had fallen into this trap many times before and it always ends the same, with me being woken up at 4am by my partner, with a stiff back and an open wikipedia page discussing the later stages of the reign of Loius XIV. So I reminded myself that I'm not a huge fan of the current ruleset, finished my beer, closed the browser, and headed to bed.

I didn't make it.

I made my way back to the dim light of my my lair where the terminal screen flickered in the dark corner of my secret laboratory, as something intangible tickled the back of mind. I reloaded gamefinder and they were still there. I this time checked the coaches page to check their record, which stood at 421/247/331. A solid record indeed.

Wait, that's 999 games... Hashtag destiny.

I offered the game, knowing that I only had one team that was always going to be a hard match up for someone without tackle, a legend ranked coach would never accept a pairing.

<GAME ACCEPTED>

What then ensued, was probably one of the most enjoyable match I have ever played, and has done wonders to have me warm to the new ruleset. A back of forth match, that could have gone either way and ended in an exciting draw that went down to a T16 that could have seen either side win.

Mass casualties, sacked stallers, send offs, gutter runner snakes, exploding snotlings, clutch troll blitzes on the ball carrier, and even a completed pass (I know, right?) - it had it all.

A big thanks to policeshades, and a hearty congratulations on 1000 games on the site.

Sounds like a humdinger of a game - will watch back.
And congrats Policeshades on 1000 matches. Two of those were draws with myself, and good games both.
