Welcome to my clickbait. I have a serious question. Or statement. I don't know which. But I'm serious.
Why does it not work that the bigger team gains the option to spend treasury on inducements... and then the underdog can either spend with the increase or choose to gain the (randomly average) Prayers to Nuffle. Otherwise the bigger team with treasury can buy up and then oooofff... ya find out that you face a big boi team with stars and you get trapdoors and extra spp for crowd surfing. Oh. And someone gets stab. But they are Chaos Dorfs and you have Gobbos.
Now.. to be clear. This is not a complaint. Its a questioning of the mechanics as they stand.
Luckily I've never been popular.

Prayers are not balanced well. Too many random cooks.
Not being able to choose when to activate them, some of them lasting one drive, others a full game. Weird.
Moles should be trained and only hurt the other team.
Old Cards were imo much better. Also fluff wise more entertaining, with exception of the thrown rock against stalling gits.
Also getting moar petty cash for the underdog in case of overspending was a better system than on bb20. So totally agree. At least make it optional to invest in a Prayer or another inducement.

I think the system is alright as it is.
The overdog has earned their treasury and saved it, possibly over numerous games.
They have worked for that advantage and have forgone other investments before.
The ruleset encourages tight management of TV and treasury.
It thereby introduces a long-term strategy dimension to the game.
Personally, I could even do without the consolation „Prayers to Nuffle“.
