Search the net, save the Rainforest

I stumbled upon this newish search engine World Wildlife Fund is running with Yahoo! and Bing -> http://ecosia.org/
It gets profit from advertised links like any other search engine, but atleast 80% of the profits go to WWF's rainforest protection program and the electricity it needs is produced with renewable energy sources.
~"On avarage 1 search makes enough profit to protect 2 square meters of rain forest."
(Addiotional nice thing is that they don't store, analyse or sell the information about what you seek or who you are)
Seems to work as well as google.
http://ecosia.org/how.php tells how to make it your default search engine etc.

Nothing works as well as Google as far as searches go. They have the best programmers and the best algorithms! Have you ever seen pictures of the Google offices? It's crazy.

Gotta admit that the sound of this isn't all that different from those other click and save the world/hungry/poor/anything sites and facebook groups, but atleast those 3 big names behind it have something to show for that they are capable of doing the stuff they claim to do.

I'd hope that search advertisers have somehow made sure that they aren't paying the search companies for stuff like that. But propablly someone will try anyway :D
