Re: Mates Blog > why people whinge about their dice rolls
im not a whiner myself, but ive played quite a few, and know the 'true reason'...
lemme sum it up for u nicely.
Even the finest teams are useless in the hands of an idiot.
And we, as coaches, are fools.
The majority of whiners are people who dont understand the dice rolls. I played against [Anonymous A] the other day, and turn 1 blocked and RIPed a stunty positional (after a second 3bd). After psyching himself up about how lucky i am, he conceded the match.
He then proceeded to play the best coach in our league [Anonymous B], and tried to dodge an ag3 wight through some TZs, obviously failing a 4+ roll with a reroll, and the player got KOed. He conceded that match too (and got banned from our league in the process)...
Now, as coaching skills go, [Anonymous A] understands assists and blocks, but the finer aspects of agility rolls are completely beyond him, and as a result, he constantly complains about successful 2+ rolls, when his 4+ and 5+ rolls constantly fail...
The second and smaller category of whiners, unfortunately, are bad losers. [Anonymous B] can't accept losing, and any time you pull off a good strategy he starts complaining about your luck, despite managing to beat u by the end of the match...
So, [Anonymous A] comes under the category 'idiot', and [Anonymous B] comes under the category 'fool'...
The difference is that the idiot will never learn, whereas the fool will work hard to learn and beat you fairly, and still complain!
