I actually played 3 games last night, but didn't have time to write a report after the games. I actually wrote my last blog while playing my third game! Here, for your enjoyment, is a quick recap of the other two games I played. This brings my total to 5 games in 7 days. 2 more tonight and I'm golden. Hehe.
Stunty league match:
Angriff Der Killerkürbisse v.s. Frentic Gerbils
This was my second game ever in stunty league. It is a very fun format if you like to see a lot of blood on the pitch. I think the life expectancy of most players is 2 or 3 games. Lol.
Without going into too much detail Angriff won this heated affair 2-1. The Gerbils were able to score a consolation TD at the end of the 2nd half with 5 guys on the pitch! Yeah, I couldn't believe it either. I started the match with 13 players and finished with 5. 2 SI's (both groin pulls, need to fire the trainer), 3 BH's and multiple KO's. Amazingly, no serious damage was done. As for Team Angriff, not a single casuality was taken. Not even when his squigs decided to take a bit out of a couple of herders! But he did manage a very good game. Very experienced coach and a great learner experience for me. Thanks DragonTwin! Let's play another one when you are free!
The other match played was the first game for my new Wood Elf team: Lorean Lazer Beams Redux. Yes, redux since the first team met their collective demise in their first game played. 3 RIP's with a rookie Elf team, AND the MVP goes to one of the ones who died, equals early retirement.
Lorean Lazer Beams Redux v.s. Bwaan Blitzas
Elf v.s. Dwarf. Finese v.s Power. Hatred v.s. hatred. This match was quite the coming out party for the new team as they managed to win 4-0 over the Blitzas. Team speed was the key. The Blitzes only had one re-roll which really cost them. Most of his turnovers were from blocks rather than ball handling. Having a treeman really helped on the LOS. The casualties were very even (1/1/0 for me and 2/0/0 for him). He had a hard time knocking down my woodies until the last few turns. At that point they seemed to be filling the bench at an alarming rate. Thankfully no one was killed which allowed me to buy the ever so precious apotho after the match. Thank you chonen for the game. Hope to have a match with you again sometime.
2 more to go.
Sidenote: Congrats to the Detroit Red Wings for taking out the Penguins to win the Stanley Cup. Now, if only the Leafs could make the playoffs. Sigh.
