To
Mr. Mates and
Mr. Edgedante.
First of all Mr Edgedante stop taking things out of context, re-read Mr. Mates' blog again, let it sink in and understand that he was NOT defending racist belief systems.
Seing your profile makes me think you must live in a racist cowed neighbourhood. But of course I can be wrong, I was merely adding your picture, your location and the way you flame Mr. Mates for touching a dalicate subject together. A subject of which Europeans have a different view upon, in contrast to Americas slave history. Europe is "older" and therefore more "settled in" our slavewars were in the medieval era. Though there are still slaving going on mostly in the eastern european countries it's not in the same scale as in medieval or colonial times. But it's wasn't slavery we were talking about but the racism slavery begets.
And I will agree with Mr. Mates that stating "if you're not against racism, you're for it" is wrong, the world is not black and white. Where I come from the racist are a minority, and therefore a minor annoyance. In America with their shorter more turbulant history it is propably more the opposite. I can't know for sure, since I don't live there.
Which brings me to my next thorn in my eye. You simply can't call Mr. Mates and his community primitive, they may come from Slovakia and may not have the same standards as the west. And that makes you, sir, a biggot (at least to me) for thinking him and his so. But we cannot all be alike nor should we.
So far I've defended Mr. Mates and his blogs since I can understand and share his view that racism don't belong on Fumbbl.com. But I would also like to address the point that he should be more careful and more precise when taking up this subject. Since not all can discuss it objectively. Some may live in racist neighbourhoods and have to fend for their lives on daily basis. Which gives them an entirely different view on the world.
And for my own defence, this shouldn't have been my first blog and I could be mistaking through and through. And for what it's worth I would like to apologise up front to Mr. Edgedante, since I'm propably wrong due to the fact I do not know him, and therefore is making assumptions.
What it all boils down to is that Mr. Edgedante misunderstood what Mr. Mates was trying to bring across. He was simply trying to understand from what
Mr. Skolopender's signature stems from; Roleplaying Racism (the warhammer world) of real life racism. So in fact it might be Mr. Skolopender who should review his signature. And having seen his signature I'm certain he means real life racism, which I know for a fact that the part of Denmark he's from sees a higher concentration of racist then my part of Denmark.
On a ligther note; Let's start a flamewar, since that is what racismdebates always turn into ;-)
