William Faulkner of A Well-Read Pestilence has retired after a serious concussion left him too vulnerable to further damage. The hit was done in a match against team
Rollo Funebre !!!, who also claimed the skulls of a Star pestigor and a rookie rotter. William had previously suffered a
smashed ankle which limited his mobility, but to a player with Stand Firm three MA is all you need. Prior to his retirement, William was the oldest active Nurgle player in ranked and had thrown the most blocks, and was tied for most CAS.
William was the team's original killer, joining the Pestilence for their third game and specializing in hitting. Once he hit Star, the coach's desire to avoid Piling On and diversify saw him take support skills instead, and in recent games William provided more of a support role than a hitter. Never having rolled anything other than a normal skill, he still was a valuable part of the team's success.
William is the longest-lasting player I have ever had, with 169 games under his belt. He was a mainstay of the team, and we wish him well in his retirement.
