07/13/2020 Two bad games
First game of the day was versus ananio it was my elves versus a fresh team but he was fine with it. Anyway, the start of the game was pretty good I think was turn four and he was still at the halfway point. He was using the new team that just came out so I was slightly nervous but yeah. My turn four was a foul to eliminate a troll slayer which I was a relief but still not sure at this point if I am going to win. And I had to snake eye the moment that would allow him to score sadly but it is what happens with dice games.

The second half of the first game was more bad luck on my side that was really getting on my nerve and started to affect my performance making me do stupid decisions. This will most likely be a 2-0 loss which really breaks my spirit. This game was terrible for the morale of the coach and the team I am afraid. Well, there is one good thing that came up from this game which is that Iana Tonica did get better and learn how to dodge better than the other line elves.

Second game so embarrassing I miss playing so bad against Frenzy that makes me want to give myself a bloody wedge. I should have not accepted this game its an embarrassment of a match for me I am playing to purely survive at this point since I do not want to retire this team if I can prevent it. The game goes on the second half which literally went the way of the elves after the other team scored a 2nd time. The opposing team star player could not pick up the ball while my elves just took the ball and had a little dance in the end zone.

After the game the team's Captain and yes I will have a background story one day on her but for now just enjoy the fact that she leveled up please and thank you, Ekysodo Nalfar finally had time in her busy schedule to a training camp and learn how to dodge by a professional. She now has Dodge and she could not be happier with it. Now if the team could start winning, we would be a happy camper.

A new player has joined the team that’s right the Witch Elf and sister of the team’s captain Marelle Nalfar She is really excited that her long lost sister has contacted her after a long period of time. The captain Ekysodo was exiled by her own people and that story will be told later on.

Hiya buddy, welcome to fumbbl. A quick read through your blogs indicates to me that you have a great attitude towards the game and I think you will do really well here. If you want to learn the game, and do some fluff, this is definately the place. Welcome aboard :)

Hello RoB,

Welcome to fumbbl! As a still not too hot after 2,000+ matched coach like me knows, Blood Bowl can be tough.

The 1,000 losses playbook by Wreckage has lots of helpful tips on how to play effectively https://www.dropbox.com/s/2ednwzorq89gc4g/1000%20losses%20ed1.pdf

Started watching your first match. First impression: you need to work on setup! You hid your rookie expendable linemen behind your valuable blitzers! Should be other way around! Block & dodge (blodge) combo is valuable for rookie teams, or to put it conversely, hard to play against for teams without tackle. Notice your opponent's first move: dwarf with tackle takes down the exposed blodger! You gotta protect those guys, because they're your best players and your optimum ball carriers.

Next turn: good move knocking away cage corner and getting TZ on ball - but you did it before standing up your guys on the ground, and before moving guys into defensive positions. All your dice free moves should be completed before rolling any dice.

Over next few turns you're trading blocks before moving, with wwhich ends up leaving a clear path up top for opponent's cage to advance. Soon they're sitting pretty at endzone, can score at time of choosing.

This continues in second half. In turn 3 you move ball close to their players, and before moving players to protect, attempt a double dodge, the first through a TZ. When this goes wrong the ball is completely exposed and your team are out of position, with most of them on the deck. Even though it was your drive, your opponent is now in control and you're in trouble.

Nice pass recovery, but you've no one left to cover the ball. Sacked again and unluckily the bounce goes straight to them. Opponent gets the ball clear and cages, bascially sealing your fate.

So main takeways - protect your positional players when you can, starting with setup, and protect the ball at all times. Always start your turn with zero risk/dice free moves. All basic stuff, but for me to say more might be the blind leading the blind. Good luck!
