And without many coaches activating in Black Box it's hard to find 4 activating at the same time, it's not hard to understand.
Remove Ranked division, thus forcing coaches to play ranked matches in Black Box only and the activations in Black Box should increase.

Not true MattDakka, fumbbl has a lot of active coaches. There may be a problem that the player base is split between two divisions and 1 division may be the way to go in the future though if it was blackbox that stayed and ranked that went I think that would be far more damaging to the site both divisions are doing reasonably well numbers wise. Personally I have always got a game in blackbox within half an hour of trying.

Excellent idea Matt. Delete the ranked division. Why not just delete Fumbbl completely and just play poker?

I activated once. No game. Got two games in [L]eague.

@cloggy: No it wouldn't. If you have to use wuss teams you may as well stay in ranked.

Even better. We already have a Gentleman's League in the [L]eague division. ;)

@Garion: to be honest, I ever see 70-100 coaches in the peak hours of FUMBBL, and many of them are not playing games, they are just connected to the site.
For "a lot" I mean 1000 coaches connected at every hour of the day, never saw that happening.

It's a lot of time wasted honestly, sometimes I don't have the luxury of waiting for ages just to find a match against a boring team/coach. The max waiting time should be 5 minutes. On the Cyanide game you could find a match in 5 minutes. Why? Because there were more coaches online.

@koadah: because I like a tactical (i.e. with players moving on a board)/strategical, fantasy game with some dice mechanics involved and poker simply doesn't suit my taste.
I don't want to play in League because it's unranked and because I want to play whenever I feel the urge without the hassle of arranging games through PM/any sort of message.

Ranked has really gone to dominate the Box in games played, Ranked is twice the size now!

the B activation problems are really american (north south central) night problems.

I have been told why there must be 4 coaches and 2 games for each activation, but I would still like to see that changed to allow for any legal matchup to be created.

I am also a North American on the West Coast so I can't even get the late nighter europeans like our east coasters can. Australiasia folks are at school/work.

I feel like I need to start recruiting efforts or something.

Maybe if there was a way to kick on instant match making when the amount of missed rounds of match making gets too high?

Actually, that's a good idea mrt. For example, if there's no game scheduled 2 draws in a row, the next 15 minutes are direct matchmaking. File a feature suggestion!

I truly don't think that Cyanide system would do any good. Way too easy to play the opponent of your choice an extraordinary percentage of times. [R]anked has a limit in place for how many times you can play the same guy for a reason, and the [B] scheduler has safeguards built in for the exact same reason.

Today, match scheduled 31 times out of 96 possible with 22x2, 6x3, 3x4 matches. After midnight, no match until 1:45. After 5:15, no match until 12:15. No comment.

Always challenge matches which you would assume 50/50%. If all of you would do that, there were no need of the box at all. We wouldn't even know the word picking.

If Scaramanga likes to play a super bash team why should he prevented to do so?
I had the same problem in Ranked: nobody accepted to play against my Dwarfs, Orcs and Chaos Dwarfs (mind, teams in the early stage of development, not yet super killer teams), but everybody cherrypicked my elves with his bash teams, Amazons were ever challenged by Dwarfs/Chaos Dwarfs, and so on...

I've been playing more Ranked lately because there are no Box games to be had. It's unfortunate as I like the Box div for the pure craziness and fun more than Ranked. There has been several bigger Scale Ranked Majors as of late, which I believe drives people into building Ranked teams. XFL's, WarpStone and many active Smacks.
