Chaos Team developement decisions...
Hi there. I posted this at the end of an old, necromanted thread in the forums and then figured that perhaps more people will read it here. And all in all its something for a blogpost.

I am still pretty new to bb as a whole, never played tt, just about 10 games on cyanide before i came here. Played i think about 70 games here in my time.

So, my Chaos Team is reaching a tv range where it is beginning to be effective.

To be honest i think in the hands of a more able coach it would be a killer team. In my hands it is at a point where i am beginning to win at least *some* games (losing my ballcarrier to a gfi didnt help^^).

So, what is all that about? I think i am a little afraid for my little guys and want to up there chance to a) win and b) stay alive^^. And i would like to have a team that isnt exactly totally min/maxed but competetive enough to give me at least a chance of winning .

So, like Carnis told me, get some bench players? Skill the rookie Beastmen, or neverever skill the linefodder?

In general i tried to make as many players as possible dangerous, redundancy helps my game alot i think. But i do see a kind of dullness in my rooster, what else then a frenzier would fit in your eyes into this team?

And what is a poor choach to expect? In the discussions about min/maxing it is often stated that teams get pummeled down quickly after hitting a kind of tv-ceiling at around 2,xk tv? Why is it so, what can i do about it? Or should i avoid higher tv, get rid of the 12th guy, downgrade one more lino and try to stay under 1,8k? And wouldn´t this be... mean?

Thanks for your answers... or at least your time for reading this :)

Bench players could be very helpful now you will be up against other violent teams. Though chaos with clawpomb are very good at high tv. Possibly they aren't the best team and combo to learn with as you don't need such good positioning to do well.
Chaos are not the most fun roster if you are using just the two standard player types. You could always try elves or Undead, or some other race with a bit of variety. You could also get a big guy but they are often not so effective.
P.s You mean roster. Look up rooster :o)

I agree with garyt1, you learn to win one type of team after you have played it yourself and know how it works. Also the positioning is crucial, take a step back from the bashy teams. Play more fragile rosters and learn how to control clock and field, protect your players and ball. Then take that knowledge and return to your chaos.

Team needs:
Ballcarrier.
More bench (DP gonna get ejected).
Fire niggler.
Don't bother with staying low/mid TV, chaos does better the higher the TV is.

I hesitate to comment on your game play but since we just played my DE vs your chaos I'll try to give constructive advice. Simply put, many chaos coaches forget that not every block has to be a kill and quite frankly not every block has to be taken. In our game I used the Blodge/SS to try and bait you into blocking as much as possible and with some luck (and I was definitely lucky in that 2nd half) I could mess up your positioning freeing my few remaining players to get into the backfield.

If you look at the game my team still suffered 6 cas with one being the push into the crowd. My suggestion, with the numbers advantage make sure on offensive kick returns to protect the ball. In our scenario I would have had three people in the backfield to help secure and protect the ball. This would have assuredly prevented the third TD and possible even the second because there would have been TZs around the ball after the failed PU.

I don't mean to comment on your play as a whole. You bashed me quite well, just a few suggestions.

Good luck to you in the future

Thank you very much for your comments ice, it is good to hear tipps from someone who actually beat me quite hard while taking a beating.
I mean, i should win when there are only 4 opposing players left on the field at times... but i didnt^^

I really dont mind getting constructive critisism. Thanks :)
